How to Refill Your Pool

It’s that time of year again where the cold weather is beginning to subside and your pool is ready for some freshwater to kick off the heatwave!

In this video, you’ll learn how to drain and refill a pool yourself to save money.

When is the right time?
First and foremost, drain your pool in early to late spring to avoid cracking the materials when it’s hot out.

Next up, make sure your pool utilities do not turn on when the pool is draining. Do this by turning off the breaker to your pool electronics and making sure all electronics are turned off and unplugged.

Step 1. Determine where the water will go.

Make sure the water is going somewhere that will not cause damage, most pools should have a drain system already built-in for draining.

Step 2. Get a submersible pump to pump out the water, the more heavy-duty the better.

Step 3. Submerge your pump at the deepest part of the pool. Once submerged simply turn on the pump and let it go! It may be a good idea to calculate how long it will take to drain the pool to keep an eye on things.

Step 4. Clean your pool. Once the water is drained, you’ll want to perform some annual maintenance by scrubbing and cleaning the pool surface.

Step 5. Refill the pool. The last step takes about a day to finish but this can also be a good time to consider pool water delivery. That is water already treated and ready for swimming and summer fun!.
